[vRNI] [6.5] False intent alerts may get reported involving Cisco UCS FEX devices

Issue/Introduction

In vRealize Network Insight 6.5.0, Cisco UCS FEX elements are incorrectly displayed in the Network Map and the Intent definitions that involve Cisco UCS FEX may generate false positives. Support for Cisco UCS FEX for Network Map and Intents is planned for a future vRealize Network Insight release.

 

Affected Intents:

The following intents may generate false alerts involving Cisco UCS FEX interface.

1. Link MTU Mismatch
2. Duplex Mismatch
3. Port Mode Mismatch
4. Trunk VLAN Mismatch
5. Port Channel Member Mismatch
6. Native VLAN Mismatch
7. Native VLAN Tagging Mismatch

VMware vRealize Network Insight 6.5.0

Resolution

Ensure you are using the latest version of vRealize Network Insight to see if the issue has been resolved. VMware is working on a future release of vRealize Network Insight that will properly support Cisco UCS FEX devices in the Network Map and Intent features.
