"Cluster domain-c##### is missing compatible NSX-T VDS" when trying to deploy vSphere with Tanzu

Issue/Introduction

The following error entries are observed:
Cluster domain-c##### is missing compatible NSX-T VDS

This error message is received on the workload management page when trying to deploy vSphere with Tanzu using NSX-T. You have validated that all hosts in the desired cluster are part of the same overlay transport zone.

The Tier-0 gateway was built using the MANAGER view and not the POLICY view. You do not see the associated Tier-0 gateway under the POLICY view as depicted in the screenshot below.



When checking cluster compatibility via the dcli you see something similar to:

Environment

VMware vCenter Server 7.0.x

Cause

vSphere with Tanzu APIs only look for Tier-0 gateways created using the POLICY view.

Resolution

Create a Tier-0 gateway using the POLICY view to use with vSphere with Tanzu.
