How to backup spool files to DASD.

Though there is no facility in VM:Spool to back up to disk, there is in V/Seg which is a part of VM:Spool. 

It is installed as a separate product, but has an AUTOVSEG feature that allows you to back up any system file to disk. 

It detects any files that are missing and will automatically restore them.  The same is true at IPL time.
