Issue/Introduction

Outline the procedure to get an ip address via DHCP for a VM running CentOS 6 after OSAM migration.

Symptoms:
The CentsOS 6 VM not getting an ip address via DHCP after OSAM migration.

Cause

This issue happens when the network service on the DHCP client fails to bring up the interface. It takes sometime for the DHCP client interface to perform communication with the switch(DVS, virtualswitch, NvDS) where it is connected.

Resolution

Workaround:
Add the below configuration line on the VM running CentOS 6  before OSAM migration under the file /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0 .

PERSISTENT_DHCLIENT=yes

IMP NOTE:-  Replace eth0 with the interface ID on the VM.

Impact/Risks:
The VM running CentOS 6  doesn't  get an ip address via DHCP after OSAM migration.
