[VMC on AWS] Additional BGP routes no longer advertised over Direct Connect

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:
DX routes no longer advertised after SDDC has 16 or more segments.
Additional routes show up red instead of blue on the Direct Connect UI on VMC

Cause

In Direct Connect, there is a soft limit on the maximum number of Learned BGP routes default set to 16 compute routes.

Resolution

AWS allows up to 100 routes advertised however requires a business justification for limit increases over 40 routes.

If there is a requirement for more than 16 routes please contact VMware support with the expected route requirement and a request will be put in with AWS to increase this limitation.

Be aware this request process commonly takes up to a few days for requests under 40..
