The privilege requested to operate the Bitfusion in vCenter

Issue/Introduction

Overview:

This document outlines the required privileges to operate Bitfusion within vCenter without assigning full administrator rights.

Symptoms:

When deploying the Bitfusion server, the process requests administrator-level permissions in vCenter. However, in some cases, customers may prefer not to assign the full administrator role to a Bitfusion operator. This article provides a solution for granting the appropriate privileges while maintaining a limited access model.

Environment

VMware vSphere Bitfusion 4.x

Resolution

When the Bitfusion server is deployed, a new privilege "privilege.Bitfusion.Management.label" was added to vCenter.

If customers plan to use a normal user to operate the Bitfusion instead of the administrator,
They could choose one of following options.

* Create a new role with the privilege "privilege.Bitfusion.Management.label", the assign the user with this role.

* Add the privilege "privilege.Bitfusion.Management.label" to the user's present role.
