Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:
In 7.0 GA and 7.0 P01 with vLCM cluster management, when remediating a software image with Intel NVME Driver with VMD Technology (intel-nvme-vmd-en) component in vLCM, the remediation process failed with error "Host '<IP>' reported Non-Compliant after remediation", and compliance status page of this particular host will display an notification: "ESXi Components Intel-Volume-Mgmt-Device are either missing or downgraded on the host. Appropriate action will be taken during remediation".

Environment

VMware vSphere 7.0.x

Cause

There is a code issue in desired image compliance check process.

Resolution

This issue is resolved in vSphere 7.0 Update 1 available at VMware Downloads.

Workaround:
In vLCM cluster image side there is no workaround.
You can login to each host and manually apply the component with esxcli software component apply command, although these hosts will always show as non-compliant when checking for compliance.
