Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:
  • If vCenter Server services are deployed on custom ports in an environment with enabled (vSAN, vSphere DRS and vSphere HA), remediation of vSphere Lifecycle Manager clusters might fail due to a vSAN resource check task error.
  • The vSAN health check also prevents ESXi hosts to enter maintenance mode which leads to failing remediation tasks.

Environment

VMware vSAN 7.0.x

Cause

There is a connection error between vSAN and WCP service if vCenter is deployed on custom ports.

Resolution

Currently there is no resolution.

Workaround:
To workaround this issue, please follow the below steps:
  1. Upload the Python file VsanWcpUtil.py to vCenter Server. (The file is attached to the article)
  2. Locate the file under /usr/lib/vmware-vpx/vsan-health/pyMoVsan/
  3. Restart the vSAN health service by '/usr/sbin/vmon-cli -r vsan-health'
