Issue/Introduction

Following error may be seen in the VLCR UI 

Failed to backup VM "VM Name" (/VM name.vmx) during stage: performing backup, for task: drc-taskid. VixDiskLib_Open failed. 

VDDK logs in the connector at /da/data/var/log/vddkSever.log

 [VDDKServer.VDDKOpenCloseThread:55e3430cc9ec] NBD_ClientOpen: Couldn't connect to <ESXi host IP>:902 Failed to connect to server <ESXi host ip/fqdn>:902
 [VDDKServer.VDDKOpenCloseThread:55e3430cc9ec] DISKLIB-DSCPTR: : "vpxa-nfcssl://[VM Path /VM Name.vmdk@<ESXi host ip/fqdn>:902" : Failed to open NBD extent.

Cause

This issue occurs if the DR connector cannot connect to the VMware vSphere ESXi host on port 902 to establish NFC Connection.

Resolution

Ensure the DR Connector can connect to ESXi hosts in the protected site on TCP port 902.  Please review Cyber Recovery networking requirement
