VMware Live Cyber Recovery Connector fails boot and enters debug shell

Issue/Introduction

• VLCR Connectors may become unreachable after a power outage.
• Pinging the VLCR Connector fails.
• Rebooting the connector fails at the connector initialization state.
• Virtual Machine console of the connector appliance shows below

 

Environment

VMware Live Cyber Recovery 7.27.x

VMware Live Cyber Recovery 7.26.x

Cause

This is caused due to OVF properties not being retained when the applaince is abruptly shut down for unknown reasons.

Resolution

Currently, there is no workaround to recover the appliance from debug mode. Only viable option is to re-deploy the appliance and configure it to register to the same Orchestrator FQDN/IP.

The Orchestrator FQDN or IP and the passcode is displayed when clicked on Deploy button in the VLCR UI.
