Issue/Introduction

To provide information on the the resolution for intermittent VMware Cloud Flex Storage disconnects.

Symptoms:
VMware Cloud Flex Storage versions 25 or older, intermittently disconnects from the hosts in the SDDC.

Alert in vCenter: "Datastore flexstorage-1 on host <IP_Address> in cluster <Cluster ID> was inaccessible."

Attempting to migrate a virtual machine to or from the Flex Storage fails with: "Cannot migrate <Virtual machine> from host, flexstorage-1..."

The logs show All Paths Down (APD) events for the time of disconnect:
[APDCorrelator] 94988992966us: [vob.storage.apd.start] Device or filesystem with identifier [ID] has entered the All Paths Down state.

Cause

This is caused due to a high latency observed on VMware Cloud Flex Storage that causes disconnects and APD events. This is a known issue with versions 25 and older.

Resolution

VMware Cloud Flex Storage version 26 is scheduled to resolve this issue.

Note: As with all scheduled ETAs, this date could change. The version scheduled for release could also not include the proposed resolution. This document will be updated as needed to reflect any changes. Please always refer to the release notes for known issues and included fixes or subscribe to this article.

Workaround:
There is no current workaround.
