Issue/Introduction

Impact/Risks:
This alert will be visible on the cluster until the resolution provided below is completed.

 

This article provides the remediation steps when the vSphere HA failover alert is seen.

Symptoms:
You may see alert "vSphere HA failover operation in progress in cluster Cluster-1 in datacenter SDDC-Datacenter: 0 VMs being restarted, 2 VMs waiting for a retry, 0 VMs waiting for resources, 0 inaccessible vSAN VMs." at the cluster level. 

Cause

This alert is commonly seen when there a host failure and vSphere HA has attempted to restart a VM that was already powered off.

Resolution

Reconfiguring vSphere HA for the cluster will clear the alert. Please create a Support Request with VMC GS (Creating and managing Broadcom support cases) with the request to clear the alert. 

Note: There is no downtime when reconfiguring vSphere HA at the cluster level.
