Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:
The default disk provisioning type in vSAN is 'Thin'. EZT is being moved away from and is only available on-premises environments using VMFS as storage. VMFS is not used in VMC as a storage type to store Virtual Machines.

Resolution

While creating a Virtual Machine or initiating a migration, Please set the Object Space Reservation(OSR) to 100% in the storage policy using Thin provisioning as the VMDK instead of EZT. This will ensure 100% of space configured for the VMDK, but the underlying vmdk structure remains the same as it is in the Thin provisioning

Impact/Risks:
Unable to use EZT disk format in vSAN policies.
