[VMC on AWS] Space reclamation not occurring after Virtual Machine deletion.

Issue/Introduction

• To understand why Space reclamation does not occur after Virtual Machine deletion.

Symptoms:

•  The space does not reclaim back even after deletion a Virtual Machine.

Cause

• Space is reclaimed after some time.

Resolution

In the case of a deletion, the space would not be reclaimed immediately and as it takes resources to do so it would be scheduled afterwards to avoid impact on Production Workload.

There is no defined schedule for these operations as it depends on every environment therefore, a definitive timeframe for such operations to complete can not be given.

Space Reclamation is throttled to ensure guest performance does not have a big impact.
