Issue/Introduction

This article provides information on downloading the VMware SNMP MIB Modules.

Symptoms:

Loading mib files *-AGENTCAP-MIB.mib fail in 3rd party management systems.

Cause

AGENTCAP mib files do not convey actual APIs, only relate what VERSION of an ESXi, NSX, VCVA
supports what VERSION of a MIB file (IF-MIB, VMWARE-SYSTEM-MIB, etc).

Resolution

To resolve this issue, Download and extract the VMware SNMP MIB Module "VMware-mibs-8.10.0NX-24235044.zip" file attached in this article.
 

Notes:

• The latest MIB file can also be found in NSX manager: /opt/vmware/nsx-monitoring/python/nsx_monitoring/VMWARE-NSX-MIB.mib
• The MIB's are backward compatible. Download a new version that your environment supports.
• For vRealize Network Insight, MIB support is available in version 3.4 and later.
• Do not load these files into your management system unless it supports loading AGENTCAPS mib modules.
