VxRail - LCM Upgrade page shows vxrail Bundles Available even before upgrading NSX-T and VC | During upgrade of VCF on VxRail

Issue/Introduction

This is to inform end users that this is a known issue and it is due to the SCS published along with 1.0.0.1 version of AP tool and that the SCS has been re-published to remediate the issue.

Symptoms:

Incorrect versions or future versions of VxRail bundles would become available out of turn VxRail bundles may become available for upgrade in SDDC manager UI Bundles page even before upgrading NSX-T and VC.
VxRail bundle is shown as available for upgrade in SDDC Manager UI Bundles page and Update/Patches tab even though BoM upgrade is still in-progress on VCF on VxRail 4.X environment.

VMware Cloud Foundation 4.1
VMware Cloud Foundation 4.4.x
VMware Cloud Foundation 4.2.x
VMware Cloud Foundation 4.3.x
VMware Cloud Foundation 4.4.1

Cause

The reason for this is the previously published Software Compatibility Sets file having additional compatibility set entries which were necessary for other upgrade paths, specifically for Async patching of BoM components.

 

Resolution

To resolve the issue, please follow the below instruction:

• Online customers - No action needed.

• Offline customers - Upload the recently published SCS file, published on 10th Aug 2022.
