Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:
If vCenter and ESXi configuration (LACP) is completed first and then physical switch (channel group) is configured, this will trigger LACP up delay timer it is an expected result.

Environment

VMware vCenter Server 8.0.x
VMware vSphere ESXi 8.0
VMware vSphere ESXi 8.0.x
VMware vCenter Server 8.0

Cause

vCenter is not able to know whether the physical switch has LACP configuration, such as it binds two ports into a channel group on a physical switch. Since the user configured the LACP up delay timer to a longer time, they should expect the up delay. The timer is not honored only when the lag is created (for reboot),  after that the timer should take effect.

Resolution

This is an expected behavior.
