Once the environment is Async Patched by using VCF AP tool or has been OOB upgraded for VSRN and Vxrail environments, the forward upgrade paths will be blocked

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:
Expected forward upgrade bundles for the selected Target VCF version release does not show up as "Available" for the upgrade.

Environment

VMware Cloud Foundation 4.3.x
VMware Cloud Foundation 4.4.x
VMware Cloud Foundation 4.2.x
Vmware Cloud Foundation 4.5

Cause

Once the environments are deviated from VCF release, version aliasing should be applied on deviated BOM components for future bundles to be applied.

Resolution

To resolve the issue, use VCF AP tool with "Enable VCF Upgrade Option" on such deviated environments for applying future release bundles. Workaround:
To workaround the issue, please follow anyone of the options mentioned below:

Option 1:

1. Verify if the environment is deviated from VCF releases by looking at domain bom versions.
2. Use existing KB's to perform Version aliases for Deviated bom components.
3. Continue with desired Target VCF release upgrade.

Option 2 (Recommended):
Use Async Patch tool with "Enable VCF Upgrade Option" on deviated VCF 4x environments to continue with "Target Release Upgrade".
