Hardware clock guest OS customization fails on Ubuntu 23.10

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

When customizing a Ubuntu 23.10 Virtual Machine includes hardware clock setting, customization will fail. The following message will be found in /var/log/vmware-imc/toolsDeployPkg.log file:
"ERROR: Error : Path to hwclock not found. hwclock:".

Environment

VMware vCenter Server 8.0.x
VMware vCenter Server 7.0.x

Cause

hwclock command is not available in Ubuntu 23.10 Virtual Machine.

Resolution

Currently there is no resolution to the issue.

Workaround:

To workaround the issue, please update Ubuntu 23.10 Virtual Machine or template to install hwclock by running the command "sudo apt install util-linux-extra".
