Workaround:

To workaround the issue, please follow the below steps:

  1. Power off the Virtual Machine.

  2. Edit Virtual Machine settings, select "Linux" for option "Guest OS" and  select "Cent OS 8 (64-bit)" for option "Guest OS Version".

Example
- Right click the VM and  select "Edit Settings" ----> "VM Options" ----> "General Options"
- For option "Guest OS", select "Linux".
- For option "Guest OS Version", select "Cent OS 8 (64-bit)"

  1. Click "OK" to save the settings.

  2. In Guest OS, if the content of /etc/redhat-release is "Red Hat Enterprise Linux release", no need to change the file. If the content of /etc/redhat-release contains "MIRACLE LINUX", update the file, replace "MIRACLE LINUX" with "CentOS Linux".

  3. Apply guest customization to the Virtual Machine.
