Rotating the Workspace One password breaks connectivity from VMware Aria Operations to Workspace One

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

If the admin password of Workspace ONE (WSA) is changed from SDDC Manager, the vRealize Operations Manager (VROPS) is unable to connect to WSA.


Environment

VMware Cloud Foundation 5.1.1

Cause

After rotating the Workspace ONE password, the new password not synced back to VROPS.

Resolution

To resolve the issue, please follow the below mentioned steps:

  1. Unlock and set the new WSA admin password by running the below command on the WSA server (VMware Workspace One Access and IDM, resetting admin and configurator passwords):

/usr/sbin/hznAdminTool setOperatorPassword --pass <newpassword>

  1. Log in to VROPS UI and update the new WSA password.

Note: This problem applies to all the VCF versions 5.1.x or older.
