Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:
Post upgrading to ESXi 7.0 Update 3l or ESXi 7.0 Update 3m, the Virtual Machines connected to the NSXT Logical Switch might have their Virtual Network Interface cards (vnics) in the disconnected state if they stay on the host during host reboot.

Environment

VMware vSphere ESXi 7.0.3

Cause

During an upgrade to ESXi 7.0 Update 3l or ESXi 7.0 Update 3m, or during subsequent host reboots post upgrade, if the Virtual Machine is connected to a NSXT logical switch and stays with the host during host reboot, the vnic of the Virtual Machines might end up in disconnected state after host reboot.

Resolution

The issue has been fixed in VMware ESXi 7.0 Update 3n and later releases.

Workaround:

To workaround the issue, please follow anyone of the two procedures mentioned below:

Option 1 : Reload the Virtual Machine and then connect vnic manually.

OR

Option 2: onnect Virtual Machine's vnic to other pg/dvpg/LS, then change it back to original LS, and then connect vnic manually.
You can download the script attached to the KB to automatically remediate using Option 2.
