Common reasons why XTCATASK abends with

TCA3690 - SPO ERROR: THE USSTAB (XTCAUSS) IS NOT INSTALLED

TCA2808 - ABEND S0C4 OCCURRED IN CA VERIFY CONTROL TASK, DUMP WILL BE TAKEN

 

Resolution:

This is usually related to USSTAB (XTCAUSS) not installed, not correctly linked or not activated in VTAM. 

So please make sure that the steps as outlined here in the Installation Guide are followed.

Especially: 

If you are running VTAM 4.1 or above and you wish to use the dynamic version of the USS table, change the link edit control card from "INCLUDE USER (XTCAUSS)" to "INCLUDE USER (XTCAUSSD)." 

 

We saw customers in the past reporting above, who just had to link XTCAUSS again with 

INCLUDE USER(XTCAUSSD) 

instead of INCLUDE USER(XTCAUSS) . 

 

In addition make sure that the load library is concatenated to the VTAMLIB DD statement in the VTAM startup procedure. 

 

Finally, don't forget to refresh the Table in VTAM by

 f net,table,newtab=XTCAUSS,option=load
