Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:
  • An ESXi host which was manually placed in maintenance mode by a user and patched using Update Manager 6.7 automatically comes out of maintenance mode after remediation.
  • Within the hostd.log on the ESXi host you observe logs indicating that user vpxuser:com.vmware.vcIntegrity initiated the task

Cause

This issue occurs as Update Manager does not retain information about how the host was placed into maintenance mode.

Resolution

The issue is resolved as of vCenter Server version 6.7 Update 2. Patch downloads are available on the the Download Patches  page.
