There are several ways to archive the log files, listed as follows:

Use VM:Backup to include your log files in your regular backups.  

Use CMS TAPE DUMP  command to copy the day's log file to tape.

Use VM:Archiver to archive the log files.  You can also use VM:Scheduler with VM:Archiver to automatically initiate the archiving of your log files.  

 

If you choose to use VM:Archiver, you can archive the log files using command VMARCH ARCHIVE FILE:

    VMARCH ARCHIVE FILE filename filetype filemode FROMDISK userid vaddr
