Unable to update inventory mappings on the existing Protection Group (protected VMs) after changes are made at the SRM site inventory mappings

Issue/Introduction

If user updates the inventory mappings, then the protection groups, then changes are made to network mappings, the recovery network of protected VM will not be reflected or missing in the protection group.

Environment

VMware Site Recovery Manager 6.x
VMware vCenter Site Recovery Manager 8.x
VMware Site Recovery Manager 8.x

Resolution

In order to workaround the issue:

• We have to edit the individual Virtual Machine in the protection group and specify the recovery inventory mappings in the SRM UI for each specific VM.
• If there are a large number of protected vms to be updated, it will require manual changes of inventory mappings for each VM in the protection group.
