vSphere Replication 8.4 OVF deployments hang at 'vService bindings' step on VC67u3q

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:
  • vCenter builds are specifically VC67u3q-19300125
  • Deployment of a vSphere Replication 8.4 appliance hangs on step 10. vService bindings, and may eventually throw page Unrepsonsive message.
  • Cmdline OVFTool deployment action fails citing vServiceDependency issues.

Environment

VMware vSphere Replication 8.x

Cause


vSphere Replication 8.5 no-longer requires vService bindings step to deploy OVF.

VC67u3q-19300125 has been patched to only progress VR8.5 OVF deployments.

Resolution


This issue has been addressed in VC67p07-U3r (19832974)


Workaround:
  • If clean deploying VR8.4 in VC67u3q environment, then consider vSphere Replication 8.5-18710774.
