Q. What is the maximum disk size (single VMDK) supported by vSphere replication ?

A. vSphere Replication supports a maximum disk size of 62TB. If you attempt to activate replication on a virtual machine with a disk larger than 62TB, the virtual machine will not perform any replication operation and will not power on.

Q. What is the maximum combined capacity of all HDDs/VMDKs (HDD1+HDD2+HDD3...) connected to a virtual machine supported by vSphere replication ?

A. VMware hasn't tested the maximum combined capacity of all HDDs supported by vSphere replication due to the extreme capacity of HDDs supported by vSphere (PVSCSI can support upto 256 HDDs per VM). If you are attempting to replicate above the capactiy of 62TB and hitting an error, please raise a case with Site Recovery Manager team, we will assist you to investigate the problem.
