Unable to save blank BPDU filter for new NSX-T Segment security profile

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

• You are trying to create a new Security Profile for Segments in: Policy View, Networking, Segments, Segment Profiles, Segment Security.

• When you enable the BPDU Filter option and remove all the pre-populated entries, the list will re-populate again when the last entry is removed.

 

Environment

VMware NSX-T Data Center

Cause

This issue occurs due to an incorrect workflow.

Resolution

This issue is resolved in VMware NSX-T Data Center 3.1.2, available at Broadcom Support portal .

Workaround:

• Remove all entries except one in the BPDU Filter Allow List for the new Security Profile.

• Save the new Security Profile.
• Then edit the new Security Profile again, remove the last entry and save the new Security Profile again.

• You will now have a blank BPDU Filter list in the new Security Profile.
