Issue/Introduction

This article provides information about support for third-party software development using VMware by Broadcom APIs.

Resolution

Occasionally, VMware by Broadcom Technical Support receives Support Requests requesting SDK support. As stated in the VMware SDK Support Policy, Technical Support Contracts for VMware by Broadcom vSphere and related products entitle you to installation-only support for vSphere SDKs and CLI tools.

Note: For clarification, no code, script, or API troubleshooting is done by VMware by Broadcom Technical Support.

If you have purchased third-party software, and require assistance for a VMware by Broadcom API that is used by the software, the software company must open a VMware by Broadcom SDK Support Request (also known as developer support) or a VMware by Broadcom Partner Support Request, rather than a VMware by Broadcom Technical Support Request.

The responsibility for managing the Request remains with the third-party software company.  Use How to file a Support Request using a Partner Support Code for details on Partners opening partner specific support requests.
