Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

The Windows Guest OS Customization fails with the error below if the domain OU name contains spaces, such as in 'OU=My Test DC=example, DC=com'.
Standard Error: Deployment failed. Runtime error: The Domain OU string must refer to an existing OU in your target Domain. Please don't specify any other values excepting OU and DC in it.. Log can be found at: /tmp/vmware-imc/deploypkg-*.log

 

Environment

VMware vCenter Server 8.0.2
VMware Cloud Director 10.5.1
VMware vSphere ESXi 8.0.x

Cause

The domain OU validation function doesn't allow spaces in domain OU name.

Resolution

This issue will be resolved in the future vSphere and VMware Cloud Director releases.
