SDDC Manager bundle pre-check failure when upgrading to VCF 5.1 and above.

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:
VCF 5.0 (online /offline customers) - Sddc Manager Pre-check "Upgrade Bundle Download Status" fails with error "Could not find bundle for SDDC_MANAGER upgrade to version 5.1.0.0-<build_number>".

Environment

Vmware Cloud Foundation 5.1
VMware Cloud foundation 5.x
Vmware Cloud Foundation 5.0.0.1

Cause

From VCF 5.1 onwards we are deprecating the Config Drift bundle, however, the previously released VCF versions (4.3 - 5.0) expects that a config drift bundle will be applied as part of a target release and hence indicates this as a pre-check failure.

Resolution

Once the SDDC Manager is upgraded to 5.0.0.1 or 5.1+, the config drift pre-check will not be executed for target versions 5.1+

 

Workaround:
This pre-check failure can be ignored for VCF 5.1+ and it is safe to proceed with the upgrade despite this bundle pre-check failure.
