Issue/Introduction

This article helps users if they have manually assigned the ipv4 address to vmk port group of VxRail Management network of the host/s to be added.


Symptoms:

This failure occurs during the Add host to cluster validation workflow when VxRail Management vmk portgroup has ipv4 address configured for any of the hosts to be added to the cluster.


Environment

VMware Cloud Foundation 5.0
Vmware Cloud Foundation 4.5.1
VMware Cloud Foundation 4.4.1

Cause

This issue is occurred because the host to be added had ipv4 assigned to vmk port group of VxRail Management network but for vmk port group of Vxrail Management network only ipv6 address is expected.

Resolution

VMware is aware of this issue and working to resolve this in a future release.

Workaround:

Follow the below steps:

1. Go to vcenter and select the host to be added to vcf.
2. Click on Configure tab and then click on "VMkernel adapters" under "Networking" section.
3. Click on 3 dots in front of the row containing Network label starting with "VxRail Management" and then click Edit.
4. Click on IPv4 settings and choose "No IPv4 settings" option and click "OK".
5. Retry the Add host workflow from SDDC manager.
