Issue/Introduction

  • To unblock users who run into NSX-T apply and configuration issues by providing a workaround.
  • Configuring NSX from NSX Manager will fail with error in Configuration State.
    Host configuration: Failed to send the HostConfig message. [TN=TransportNode/ce1dba65-####-####-####-##########db]. Reason: Failed to send HostConfig RPC to MPA TN:ce1dba65-####-####-####-##########db.Error: Unable to reach client ce1dba65-####-####-####-##########db, application SwitchingVertical. LogicalSwitch full-sync: LogicalSwitch full-sync realization query skipped.

Environment

VMware NSX 4.x
VMware vSphere ESXi 8.0.1
VMware vSphere ESXi 8.0.x

Resolution

This issue is resolved in VMware vSphere ESXi 8.0b. available at Broadcom Downloads.

Workaround:

If the user hits the Configuration State Error and do not wish to upgrade ESX to 8.0b, then follow the below procedure:

  1. Remove the NSX Configured on the cluster from NSX Manager by clicking on "Remove NSX".
  2. Upload the 8.0a offline depot (VMware-ESXi-8.0a-20842819-depot.zip).
  3. Initiate NSX installation on the cluster from NSX Manager by clicking on "Configure NSX".
