Issue/Introduction

  • Performance improvement feature (scale flex) will not be enabled after upgrading to 8.0U1. Users need to apply the workaround for the feature to be enabled.


Environment

VMware vSphere ESXi 8.0.x
VMware vSphere ESXi 8.0.1

Cause

The feature enablement after the upgrade was disabled to avoid running into a corruption issue reported late in 8.0U1 testing.

Resolution

VMware is aware of this issue and working to resolve this in a future release.

Workaround:
After the upgrade is completed, run the following command on all nodes:
vsish -e set /vmkModules/vsan/dom/ownerAbdicateAll to force the log bypass feature to be enabled
