Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:
Error:
vcf@sddc-manager [ ~ ]$ sudo /opt/vmware/sddc-support/sos --sddc-manager-logs
[sudo] password for vcf
vcf is not in the sudoers file. This incident will be reported.

Environment

Vmware Cloud Foundation 4.5

Cause

The error is seen because file required to grant permissions to SoS is not available in /etc/sudoers.d dir

Resolution

Follow the below steps to resolve the issue:

  1. login to sddc-manager

  2. Change to root user

  3. Run below command on sddc-manager

mv /opt/vmware/sddc-support/sos_sudoers /etc/sudoers.d/sos_sudoers

Workaround:

Switch to 'root' user in SDDC manager and invoke SoS operations again or retry after applying resolution.
VMware is aware of this issue and working to resolve this in a future release.
