Issue/Introduction

VI Workload Domain Creation or Cluster creation fails with the error: Cannot complete a vSphere Distributed Switch operation for one or more host members.

Environment

VMware Cloud Foundation 5.x

Cause

The VDS created by SDDC Manager for dual DPU has all 4 uplinks in Active mode (default) and this does not work with NSX uplink profile where one DPU uplinks are Active and second DPU uplinks are standby.

Resolution

This will be a resolved in a future VCF release.

Workaround:

Login to the vSphere UI of the vCenter that contains the hosts in questions.

Go to Networking > VDS in question.

Edit the DPU Failover Settings and move the uplink3 and uplink4 to Standby uplinks.

The relative order of uplinks within each category (Active and standby) does not matter.

Once complete, restart the workflow from the SDDC Manager UI.
