SDDC Manager shows NSX upgrade on vLCM domains as successful after failed retry

Issue/Introduction

To provide a workaround to resolve the issue where upgrade is reported as failed / install skipped in NSX Manager UI. 

Symptoms:
All of the below symptoms should have occurred in sequence.
1. SDDC Manager shows failure while upgrading NSX on domains managed via vLCM Images.
2. One of the clusters is marked as upgrade failed in SDDC Manager UI.
3. When upgrade is retried from SDDC Manager UI, it is marked as passed.
4. However the same host cluster is shown as failed/Install_SKIP state in NSX Manager UI.

Environment

VMware Cloud Foundation 4.x

Cause

vSphere Lifecycle Manager sets the upgrade status incorrectly during retry even though there are errors reported by NSX Manager during upgrade.

Resolution

Please follow the work around.

Workaround:
Perform following steps to complete NSX upgrade
1. Login to NSX Manager UI.
2. Navigate to System > Fabric > Nodes page.
3. Perform resolve action on cluster that is in failed state.
4. After issues on cluster are resolved, navigate to System > Upgrade page.
5. Resume the upgrade.
