Symptoms:
If base Virtual Machine is hosted in a vVol datastore and if you try to create a linked clone Virtual Machine out of the base Virtual Machine in another vVol datastore, then the operation fails with below error.
com.vmware.vc.CannotCreateFile Cannot complete file creation operation.

Workaround:
Make sure to keep the base Virtual Machine in the same vVol datastore as where its linked clone is being created or keep the base Virtual Machine in a VMFS datastore to avoid this error while cloning to another vVol datastore.
