NSX V to T migration coordinator tool failed with "Error: 409: Specified syslog exporter 'v-migrated1' already exists"

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:
During NSX V to T migration, the migration coordinator failed and reported the error below

Config migration failed [Reason: HTTP Error: 409: Specified syslog exporter 'v-migrated1' already exists for url http://localhost:7441/api/v1/node/services/syslog/exporters

Environment

VMware NSX-T Data Center
VMware NSX-T Data Center 4.x
VMware NSX-T Data Center 3.x

Cause

This can happen if there are existing syslog config on the NSX-T manager which prevented the migration tool running further. This can be possible if the migration was cancelled without rollback in the past which can leave syslog server config in the process.

Resolution

Run the command below to see if there is any existing remote logging config

get logging-servers

Run this command below to clear any logging servers config and restart the migration tool again.

clear logging-servers
