Issue/Introduction

Symptom:

CA Datacom Data Query batch program (DQBATCH) results in these errors:

DQ000E - DATAQUERY HAS ENCOUNTERED AN UNKNOWN ERROR MESSAGE NUMBER (471)
DQ000E - DATAQUERY HAS ENCOUNTERED AN UNKNOWN ERROR MESSAGE NUMBER (284)
DQ000E - DATAQUERY HAS ENCOUNTERED AN UNKNOWN ERROR MESSAGE NUMBER (458)
DQ000E - DATAQUERY HAS ENCOUNTERED AN UNKNOWN ERROR MESSAGE NUMBER (357)

Environment:

CA Dataquery for CA Datacom 12.0 and above

Cause:

The DQ000E error means:

- Error codes are missing from the Datacom Dataquery Database 003 Area DQM

or

- Area DQM (tables DQM, DQP, DQV, and DQZ) are empty.

Area DQM contains all the Dataquery messages provided by the CA Datacom product.

Resolution:

Use program DQLANGMT (Language Batch facility) to restore

- from a site backup

or

- from the CA Datacom/DB installation backup data set *.CABDDATV(BAS03DQM) if there is no site backup found.

If the messages have not yet been restored to the DQM area, the actual message code can be determined.

DQ000E DATAQUERY HAS ENCOUNTERED AN UNKNOWN ERROR MESSAGE NUMBER (nnn)

The (nnn) is the message code number. You can search the Dataquery Message Guide for each DQnnn messages:

So, for the messages in this example:
(471) is message code DQ4471
(284) is message code DQ284I
(458) is message code DQ458E
(357) is message code DQ357I
