This issue may occur if you have installed vCenter Server and vCenter Converter on the same server using different user accounts. For example, you may have installed vCenter Server using a local administrator account and vCenter Converter using a domain administrator account.
To resolve this issue, verify the permissions of the
__VMware_Converter__ user account and grant full administrative permissions to it.
If this does not resolve the issue:
- Remove the Converter application from vCenter Server and manually delete the __VMware_Converter__ user account.
- Reinstall Converter and then retry importing the virtual machine.
Note: When using VMware vCenter Converter Standalone 5.0.x, ensure you use the
Run as administrator option when launching the application. Select Converter from the Start menu, right click on it and select
