To resolve this behavior, you must either connect to the Internet or turn off the Update Root Certificates component.
To turn off the Update Root Certificates component:
- Log into vCenter Server.
- Click Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs.
- Click Add/Remove Windows Components.
- Deselect the Update Root Certificates checkbox, click Next, then Finish.
On Windows 2008 R2, turn off Automatic Root Certificates Update:
Note: To perform this procedure, you must be a member of the local Administrators group, or you must have been delegated the appropriate authority.
To turn off Automatic Root Certificates Update:
- Click Start > Run, type gpedit.msc, and click OK.
- If the User Account Control dialog box appears, confirm that the action it displays is what you want, and click Continue.
- Double-click Administrative Templates > System > Internet Communication Management, and click Internet Communication settings.
- Double-click Turn off Automatic Root Certificates Update, click Enabled, and click OK.
- Close the Local Group Policy Editor.
