VMware vSphere replication of virtual machines fail with the error: No accessible host for datastore

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

• vSphere Replication of virtual machines fails
• When you verify the replication status of virtual machines through the vSphere Replication Server, all virtual machines are shown as out of compliance
• In the vSphere Replication Server, you see entries similar to:

Environment

VMware vSphere Replication 5.1.x
VMware vCenter Site Recovery Manager 5.1.x

Cause

This issue occurs if a previously known ESX/ESXi host is no longer available. Known causes include an ESX/ESXi host in a disconnected, powered off or standby state.

Resolution

This is a known issue affecting vSphere Replication 5.1 and vCenter Site Recovery Manager 5.1.
