Issue/Introduction
Symptoms:
Inaccurate or incorrect monitoring of sensor data is reported in the vCenter Server Hardware Status
vCenter Server Hardware Status intermittently displays incorrect information
Inaccurate alerts are generated in the vCenter Server Hardware Status tab
Sensor data information available from the hardware vendors may be incorrectly displayed in the vCenter Server or vSphere Client connected to the ESX/ESXi host
Environment
VMware ESXi 4.1.x Installable VMware vCenter Server 4.1.x VMware vCenter Server 4.0.x VMware vSphere ESXi 5.1 VMware vCenter Server 5.0.x VMware ESXi 4.1.x Embedded VMware vSphere ESXi 5.5 VMware vCenter Server 5.5.x VMware ESX 4.0.x VMware vSphere ESXi 5.0 VMware ESX 4.1.x VMware vCenter Server 5.1.x
Cause
After IPMI write operations, sfcbd returns incorrect data for a period of time (approximately between 30 seconds and 5 minutes).
Resolution
This is a known issue. Currently, there is no workaround.
