Issue/Introduction

P2V conversion using Converter version 6.2 on a Debian 8.11 Linux machine fails with the error:
"Unable to query the live Linux source machine."

In the log file vmware-converter-worker.log located at (C:\ProgramData\VMware\VMware vCenter Converter Standalone\logs), you may see entries as below:

Environment

VMware vCenter Converter Standalone 6.x

Cause

The physical server has /dev/sda6 mounted at two different locations, which the Converter is unable to recognize or process correctly.

Resolution

Unmount /dev/sda6 from one of its mount points and reinitiate the conversion process.
