Issue/Introduction

  1. Virtual machines lose network connectivity randomly, they are part of the vDS which is inherited from the Cisco ACI.
  2. Current NIC teaming configurations are altered on the corresponding dvPortGroup. As per the the LACP configuration setting with reference to Cisco UCS manager.
  3. You see error:

LACP error: Current teaming policy on VDS, DvsPortset-1 is incompatible, supported is IP hash only.

Resolution

To resolve the issue, Change the teaming and bonding options to Route based on Source MAC hash when using the Cisco Virtual Interface Card (VIC) adapters on the Cisco Unified Computing System (UCS) B-Series servers.

Support matrix

All teaming/bonding methods that are switch independent are supported in the UCS B-series environment. These bonding modes do not require any special configuration on the switch/UCS side.

This list is applicable for both the native operating system and for a hypervisor environment with virtual machines.
