Issue/Introduction

Manually configured parent child object relationships in Aria Operations configuration will disappear after the next collection cycle.

Environment

Aria Operations 8.16x

Aria Operations 8.18x

Cause

The manual parent child object relationship configured will disappear from vRealize Operations Manager UI after a collection cycle (5 minutes) and will not persist.

Resolution

This is expected behavior in Aria Operations.

To workaround this behavior, use one of these alternatives:

• Create a Custom Group and add the parent-to-child relationship in the custom group
• Use the Aria Operations Suite-API to configure manual object relationships to remain constant in the UI (see additional information)
