Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:
  • In the Linux guest operating system, the messages.log file contains repeating entries similar to:

    vmsvc [warning] [guestinfo] RecordRoutingInfo: Unable to collect IPv4 routing table.

  • Adding rtc.diffFromUTC=0 to the .vmx file of the affected virtual machine does not help.

Environment

VMware vSphere ESXi 5.5
VMware vSphere ESXi 5.1
VMware vSphere ESXi 5.0

Resolution

This is a known issue affecting ESXi 5.x.
Currently, there is no workaround.

The messages.log file entries are cosmetic and can be safely ignored.
