Adding a host to vDS fails
In the vCenter Server task bar, you see the error: vDS operation failed on host xx.xx.xx.xx, An error occurred during host configuration. got (vim.fault.PlatformConfigFault) exception.
hostd reports the error: Create DVSwitch failed with the following error message: Unable to Create Proxy DVS ; Status(bad0005)= Already exists
Running net-dvs command under /etc/vmware returns: failed to get config data: Not initialized
When you run the esxcfg-vswitch -l command, you see that there are no entries related to the dvSwitch
Environment
VMware vSphere ESXi 7.X VMware vSphere ESXi 8.X
Cause
This issue occurs because the vDS database has a stale entry from an earlier failed attempt.
